The Longline concept, originally called the eXc, was first unveiled by Scania in 2002 at Hanover truck show. In 2003 the truck was launched to the press at the RAI show in Amsterdam. Now renamed the ‘Longline’ the truck was only produced until the end of 2004 when the new ‘R’-Series was launched. This makes the Longline, the rarest of all Scanias.
The Longline takes the already spacious Scania Topline cab and is extended by approximately 1.5 meters allowing extra space for a flat screen TV, a full size lower bunk, armchair, dining table, full kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and even a kitchen sink! All Scania Longlines were specified with the top-of-the range 580bhp 16-litre V8 engine and 14speed gearbox as standard. Other standard features included factory fitted Retarder, Air-conditioning, Xenon headlamps and more.
This particular truck started its working life in France in 2004, hauling a refrigerated trailer across Europe. It was imported by Scania dealer West Pennine Truck’s Used Sales department in 2015 and exhibited at various truck shows around the UK. It was then acquired by Montgomery transport who employed the services of West Pennine Trucks Specialist Bodyshop team who completed a full restoration and customisation into the stunning condition that you see here today. The truck now has full metallic paintwork with extensive airbrushed artwork, light-bars and full chassis infill amongst many other custom and original features.
